12-Volt Off-Grid Solar System

2000W AC / 40A CC / 400W PV (2024) v1

Build this simple yet powerful off-grid solar system. This system emulates a standard 15A outlet found in your house. If you can plug it in, it will power it.

This build makes use of the Load Port on the Charge Controller. The Load Port can be used to run 12-Volt appliances and USB devices directly from the battery without using the inverter. Additionally, the Load Port can be configured to automatically turn on and off the load based on daylight or time delay.

NOTE: Do not use the inverter you see in the picture. I decided to use the Renogy 2000W instead.

NOTE: Do NOT use the inverter in this picture. Use the one in the schematic. Schematic calls for 2000W Renogy inverter (see below in parts list)

NOTE: I replaced the battery fuse (B1) for a "terminal" style fuse. These are better and easier to install.
